A PAIR of teenagers have been charged in connection with a series of robberies across Solihull.

West Midlands Police arrested five teenagers after carrying out warrants across Solihull and Birmingham, and two boys aged 16 and 17 have now been charged with robbery offences.

They will be appearing before magistrates at a later date.

The charges follow a series of robberies in Solihull, and police are appealing for information which could help with enquiries.

Police have released an image of a bike and rider they suspect of being involved in one of the robberies in Stratford Road on July 10.

West Midlands Police said: “In this incident, a group of five people attempted to steal a mountain bike from its rider and we’re keen to hear from any witnesses.

“We’ve had over 40 reports of street robberies across Solihull in the past three months which has led to the launch of Operation Luxray, with the aim of targeting these robbery offences.

“We are carrying out regular patrols across the borough of Solihull, with support from our off-road bikes team, dogs, and drones.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 and quote crime number 20/305771/25.
