TWO previous vicars returned to the historic Church of St Mary Magdalene to mark the first anniversary of Reverend Chris Kennedy in Tanworth-in-Arden.
Rev Paul Cudby and Rev Tim Harmer, together with Rev Kennedy, have served the church of St Mary Magdalene and the village for nearly three decades.
Before coming to Tanworth-in-Arden, Chris’s ministry was in London, and he still spends part of his time working to help prisoners to reform and rehabilitate.
Chris said: “My experience has included working closely with those in need of help and support outside the church itself and this has helped me to focus on engaging with the local community and charitable efforts as well as working directly with our congregation.
“There are signs that this approach is working, and we are seeing a real enthusiasm in our village for our church.”
Chris and Hannah have two boys at school and Chris says that this also helps in reaching out to parents who have not previously been involved with the church.
