Suspect identified after near miss on Castle Bromwich pedestrian crossing

POLICE investigating an incident in Castle Bromwich where a child was nearly hit by a car on a pedestrian crossing have identified a potential suspect.

Efforts are ongoing to trace the man officers want to speak to.

It comes after footage emerged of a car trying to illegally overtake another vehicle waiting for a family to cross.

Footage of the incident, on Green Lane on Monday at 6.30pm, has been widely shared on social media.




Sgt Jon Butler, from the Road Harm Prevention Team, said: “We’re really grateful to members of the public who have submitted footage, and other information to us.

“We appreciate there has been lots of discussion about this incident online, and I want to reassure people that we are taking it seriously and are fully investigating in the way that the public would rightly expect of us.”
