Survivors of convicted breast surgeon raise a cuppa for Macmillan

SURVIVORS of convicted breast surgeon Ian Paterson will be coming to raise a cuppa and funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Former patients and family members are inviting others in Solihull, Kenilworth, Bromsgrove and Coventry who were treated by Paterson to join them at The Greswolde Arms Hotel in Knowle.

Sarah Jane Downing, the founder of the support group for convicted former breast surgeon Ian Paterson’s private patients will be hosting the event from 2pm Friday, September 29.

She said: “’Even now, three years after the Bishop’s Inquiry into Ian Paterson ended, there are still people only just discovering that their surgeries performed by Paterson was wrongful or unnecessary.

I am concerned that there are many people out there who are worried about whether they should approach the Coroner to ask her to investigate the cases of their loved ones and don’t know what to do for the best.

“They are most welcome to join me and my group at our Coffee Party for Macmillan where our group solicitor Kashmir Uppal will share the latest information from the Coroner’s Inquiry and explain more about the process and what we can expect.”
