A £2,000 donation for Fat Fluffs Rabbit Rescue and Rehoming will be put to very good use, said the charity’s Sophie Walker.
The Solihull Observer told last week how the cash came from Support Adoption For Pets – the UK’s largest grant giving animal charity started by Pets At Home.
It was in recognition of the hard work at staff and volunteers at Fat Fluffs had done since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
And Sophie said the money would be put to immediate use.
“Our vet bills are our biggest expenditure as every rabbit that comes to us is neutered and vaccinated,” she said.
Thanks to contact-less working with the public the Hampton in Arden centre has continued to find loving homes for its rabbits, although Sophie said they were now bracing for a spring surge in new bunnies.
“Luckily we have some wonderful supporters and lots of fundraising on social media. I’m truly amazed by the level of support we get.”
