Sunseekers head to Touchwood beach as temperatures soar

Solihull Editorial 25th Jul, 2019 Updated: 25th Jul, 2019   0

FUN IN the sun is the order of the day at Touchwood Shopping Centre’s beach.

Children and parents alike built sandcastles, sat in deckchairs and cooled off with an ice-cream as temperatures soared this week.

The beach with its own deckchairs is at the shopping centre once again this summer, bringing with it a taste of an African safari for all to enjoy.

Throughout the summer holidays a number of activities will be hosted for all to enjoy.

On Saturday (July 27) from 11am until 4pm there will be a mask-making workshop being lead by artists so youngsters can get creative and turn into their favourite animal.

Bouncy Tigers will entertain audiences with their performance of jumps and tricks at the beach.

Between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday (July 28) swing music will fill the town centre.

There will be a dance workshop and songs from the 1920s to the 1950s will fill the town centre as the Swing Café Band and others are set to perform.

Observer photographer Jon Mullis headed down to the beach to capture a slice of the action.
