A SUNNY afternoon greeted participants at Solihull Rotary club’s disabled sports day.

The annual event, which took place at Langley School, attracted dozens of players with a variety of sports – including bowls, pool, boccia, dominoes, curling, skittles, and golf – taking place.

Aged between 16 and 80, participants with a variety of disabilities took part in the games with the company of Coun Stuart Davies, Mayor of Solihull, and Mayoress Mrs Sarah Walker.

The event, which has been a highlight of Solihull Rotary Club’s annual calendar for many years, was sponsored by Solihull Active

Organiser and rotarian David Pond said: “Seeing the pleasure and competitive spirit in the contestants makes it a joy and delight for all who give up their time to make this happen

“It couldn’t happen without the volunteers from the members of Inner Wheel who provided the delicious and welcome refreshments to the dedicated rotarians that donate their time to make this event so successful.”
