A TALENTED writer from The Sixth Form College has received a special governor award for reaching the final of the Young Writing Competition.
Rhiannah Price, 17, landed herself a place in the competition after submitting a piece of creative writing, Penny For Your Thoughts – a story about a serial killer who considers his next deadly move at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Speaking after the competition, Rhiannah said: “I decided to get involved in the competition when I saw a post about it on the Wicked UK Facebook page, as I have always loved writing and I come up with random ideas for stories or plays more or less daily.
“This gave me the chance to finally write and submit a piece of my work that someone other than myself would read.
“Although I didn’t win, all of the finalist pieces were published in the Young Writer’s anthology and this was a huge milestone for me – I have always had aspirations to be a writer and I’m forever starting new stories.”
