A STRONGMAN set a new world record by for pulling a Land Rover in a bid to raise awareness of mental health.

Commonwealth athlete Kevin Brown pulled the two-tonne vehicle 100 meters across the carpark of Northcroft Hospital in Erdington in just one minute and 23 seconds.

The two-times Commonwealth Games finalist teamed up with Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) to complete the challenge.

Kevin was joined by close friend and fellow colleague John Hendon a double amputee. John attempted a similar strength and endurance challenge, which he completed in a record breaking time of 48 seconds.

This was a successful event, with both athletes highlighting the importance of positive mental health and that the body can achieve what the mind believes.

This was not a public event, but Kevin and John were supported by a small number of family and close friends who socially distanced and fully respected COVID-19 guidelines.
