A DRUGS raid, take suspected stolen vehicles off the road and taking part in Lunar New Year celebrations were in store for Solihull Police.

Over the past week the Shirley Neighbourhood Team carried out a warrant in the town, seizing around 100 cannabis plants and arresting two men.

Elsewhere, a number of our neighbourhood teams took suspected stolen vehicles off the road.

The Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton and Sillhill team picked up a stolen car while on patrol, while the Smith’s Wood team recovered a car which had been driven round the town despite having no tax.

The St Alphege team also recovered a suspected stolen car, which was found having been dumped in a residential area.

Police say enquiries found it had been stolen from the Bristol area, so it was taken off the streets by the team.

The Shirley team also recovered a pair of suspected stolen pushbikes in Borley Close, while the St Alphege team visited Solihull Methodist Church to attend a Lunar New Year event.

Solihull Police said: ” We’re continuing to act on information we receive from the public, as well as local intelligence which guides our patrol and operation strategies.
