THE CHANCE to step back in time and enjoy an afternoon of family fun is being held to raise funds for Elizabeth House Care Home.
A coconut shy, pin the tail on the donkey and the chance to guess the weight of the cake will be on offer from 1.30pm to 5pm on July 15 in a bid to help boost the Wednesday entertainment funds at the Shirley care home.
Rhod Hewitt got his thinking cap on to help the Union Road care home boost funds for the weekly Wednesday entertainment after the home announced it was short of funds for this activity before Christmas.
Each week hired acts, which cost between £60 and £80 a week head over to the care home and often sing songs from the good old days with its 19 residents.
Rhod said: “The outside entertainment brings a lot of pleasure and smiles to residents on a Wednesday afternoon.
“I wanted to do something that would help raise enough funds in one sweep and thought a fun day would do just the job.”
