A SON who lost his father to dementia is preparing to treat Touchwood visitors to some Irish music this St Patrick’s Day as he raises money for Alzheimer’s Society.

Meriden resident David McGrath will serenade shoppers tomorrow (Friday) with Irish music, song and the craic in memory of his father, Patrick, who died of dementia in November 2015.

David will also be joined by volunteers who also have family members who are living with Alzheimer’s

Carolyn McDonald of the Alzheimer’s Society said: “We are thrilled David McGrath has chosen to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society on St Patrick’s Day by entertaining shoppers at Touchwood shopping centre in memory of his father.

“We wish him lots of luck with the event.

“There are an estimated 3,100 people living with dementia in Solihull.

“The money raised for Alzheimer’s Society will support those living with dementia today and help to find a cure for tomorrow.”
