FROM CINDERELLA and Little Red Riding Hood to Superwoman and Mog – pupils and staff at Saint Martin’s School marked World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite fictional characters.
Involving every year group from nursery to Sixth Form, the annual calendar highlight saw the Brueton Avenue school not only bringing their fictional heroes to life – but also taking part in book workshops, acting sessions and reading excerpts from their own special children’s classics.
Headteacher Nicola Smillie said: “Everyone at Saint Martin’s loves World Book Day – it’s a great opportunity to dress up, have some fun and, most importantly, celebrate the wonderful world of reading which offers so much to all the girls’ lives.
“Once again, we had a fantastic day devoted to all things World Book Day – and the costumes this year were absolutely brilliant – well done to everyone for making is such a memorable occasion.”
