BEAUTIFUL gardens in Olton will be open to raise funds for charity.

St Bernard’s in Bloom Open Gardens returns on June 29 for all to have a look around 14 gardens and boost coffers for the Stroke Association.

There will be a host of other activities along St Bernard’s Road, which dates back to the 19th century, from 1pm until 5pm.

Some of the splendid houses will have information about their history put together by a historian, including one house which has recently gained Grade 2 Listed status.

This year there will be a display of several classic Cars as well as a children’s quiz, plant sale and a raffle.

There will also be tea, cakes and samosas as well as a return of the Pimms garden with live music all afternoon.

Last year more than 1,400 people visited the gardens and raised over £11,000.

There is free parking available on St Bernard’s Road, at Olton railway station or the Friary.

Most gardens have access for disabled guests.

Toilets available at some gardens.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome with permission of individual garden owners.

Entrance costs £5 for adults and children go free.
