KINDNESS is the gift that keeps giving, so the saying goes.
And that’s certainly the case for a group who helped families and vulnerable people thanks to a donation.
Be Kind, which is the brainchild of Solihull woman Yasmin Paulson, was handed food items from Lidl.
Yasmin said Be Kind was approached by Neighbourly – which connects businesses with groups – to receive food items left over from an exhibition hosted by the supermarket to showcase its range of foods.
Yasmin said: “I must admit that I never turn down such generous offers, and upon receiving the donation, I was truly overwhelmed by both the quantity and quality of the items provided.
“The donation included an impressive selection of fresh produce as well as various non-perishable foods.
“We have already shared these wonderful items with several food banks, community cafés, and charities throughout Birmingham.
“The response has been heartwarming; all the organizations involved were genuinely thrilled by the generosity displayed through Be Kind’s contributions.
“Their gratitude reflects not only their appreciation for the food but also highlights how acts of kindness can significantly impact our community.”
Yasmin helped set up the Solihull charity Hampers for Heroes at the height of the pandemic before branching out to launch Be Kind to help the homeless, women’s refuges and the boost foodbanks.
And last summmer Yasmin and her team launched the Kindness School Pantry scheme.
This sees the group join forces with seven schools which have a pantry stocked with necessities for those impacted by the cost of living crisis.
