Specsavers Solihull colouring competition release

THROUGHOUT the past few weeks, youngsters were invited to enter a colouring competition to raise awareness of eye care at two Solihull opticians.

Hosted by Specsavers Solihull and Shirley, children were able to use their imagination to create colourful pictures, with the overall winner, Seth Hason, aged eight, receiving a £10 Waterstone’s voucher and a box of chocolates.

“We were delighted with the number of colourful entries – it was really hard to pick the winner,” said Rehan Bhatti, store director at the sister Specsavers store.

“The healthy eating theme was successful in promoting ways to keep eyes healthy and the children loved the activity.

“Our winner was really pleased with his prize, which I’m sure will be put to good use.”

The competition was organised to help raise awareness of the importance of having regular eye tests from a young age, something that the stores take very seriously.

“It’s really important for children to have regular eye tests,’ Rehan added.

“Good eyesight is a crucial part of their development and parents can bring their little ones in for a test from the age of three.

“We hope that by raising more awareness, we can encourage more people to book appointments with us in-store for their children.”
