Solihull's Touchwood steps up safety measures to protect against coronavirus

TOUCHWOOD in Solihull is stepping up safety and hygiene measures to protect staff and visitors against coronavirus.

The town centre shopping and entertainment complex remains open but managers say they will be “continuing to monitor this developing situation”.

Touchwood has more than 90 shops including John Lewis, around 20 bars and restaurants and a nine-screen Cineworld cinema, which is closed from today (Wednesday March 18) along with all of its cinemas across the UK, until further notice.

A statement from Touchwood says: “The safety and wellbeing of all of our guests and staff is always our number one priority and we are taking all sensible precautions.

“We are continuing to liaise closely with all our staff, retailers and leisure operators to issue the latest NHS guidelines as they are released, along with advice on the steps to take to minimise any risk relating to COVID-19.

“We have also increased the frequency of our cleaning regimes and continue to urge all staff to follow the good hygiene practises highlighted in the guidelines.”
