SOLIHULL’S history is set to come to life through a live mural painting and street piano project.
Artist Jenniemyma has invited residents to watch as she brings the story of Solihull to life through a mural painting on an installation on Lower Jubilee Walk, which also includes a street piano.
The installation, which runs until November 9, will incorporate colours sympathetic to the town’s architectural history, featuring community buildings and key moments in time where people have gathered throughout the development of Solihull.
Completing the design is a musical sonnet from William Shakespeare that enwraps the piano in a whimsical and poetic nod to the sonnets around Touchwood.
And visitors to Touchwood are encouraged to get involved and play a song on the piano.
The placement of the installation the heart of the community is symbolic, as Touchwood is a destination where local people meet and share meaningful moments, whether it be over a meal, enjoying entertainment or shopping with friends and family.
Jenniemyma is a Solihull born fine artist and illustrator who creates intricate hand drawn art and enjoys working on purposeful live art installations to inspire and motivate others.
Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “Touchwood has been at the heart of the community in Solihull since 2001, creating a place for local people to come together and enjoy new experiences with friends and families.
“We are looking forward to celebrating our town’s history and the people in our community through this live art project with Jenniemyma.”
