Solihull voters urged to register before deadline hits

SOLIHULL voters are being called on to register to vote ahead of next month’s elections.

On May 2 elections are taking place for those who sit on Solihull Council as well as the West Midlands Combined Authority Mayor and West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

Solihull Council is calling on residents to make sure they are registered to vote by April 16 – details on how to do this can be found on the Government website.

Antone who has voted previously and not moved home doesn’t need to re-register.

Voters need to make sure to bring photo ID to the polling station.

Anyone who doesn’t have one of these forms of ID can apply for a free voter ID document, known as a Voter Authority Certificate by April 24 at 5pm.




Those unable to attend the polling station in person, can apply for a postal vote or proxy vote.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is April 17 at 5pm and the deadline to apply for a proxy vote is April 25 at 5pm.
