TWO SOLIHULL teenagers have been charged in connection with the robbery of a 64-year-old man who was threatened with a meat cleaver.
It is alleged the male youths – aged 16 and 17 – confronted the man as he walked in Manor Park Road, Castle Bromwich.
The incident took place just after 8pm on Tuesday (February 14).
The man was unhurt but his attackers stole cash and a mobile phone.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Following a swift police response, two suspects were arrested less than an hour later and yesterday charged by detectives from Force CID in Solihull with robbery, possession of a bladed article and possession of an offensive weapon.”
The teenagers – living in Birmingham but who cannot be named for legal reasons – were set to appear today (February 16) in Birmingham Magistrates Court.
