A TEAM member at a Chelmsley Wood opticians has raised more than £500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital and donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust.

Specsavers on Greenwood Square in Chelmsley Wood has lent their support to supervisor Aimee Denison, who raised £550 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital by holding a charity day in store.

Aimee also cut 19 inches off her long locks for the Little Princess Trust, a charity providing real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other conditions.

Aimee said: “My hair will grow back so I wanted to do this for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

“I am so grateful to everyone who came along to the charity day and made the fundraising possible.”

Store manager, Sukhwant Drake added: “We’re all really proud of Aimee and her efforts to positively change the lives of children in our local community.

“When we found out Aimee was going to cut off so much of her hair off for charity, we were keen to help so offered the store as a venue.”
