SOLIHULL Summer Fest 2024 saw more than £11,500 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Thousands attended the four day music festival Tudor Grange Park in July,

Irish music legend Ronan Keating and The Jacksons headlined the main stage at the eighth annual festival.

Scouting for Girls, The Feeling, The Wailers, Issac Stuart, a DJ set by Denise Van Outen performed over the weekend alongside local bands.

The four-day event showcased the power of community spirit, with every donation helping to fund Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s vital pre-hospital emergency service.

A highlight of the fundraising efforts was the festival’s plastic cup deposit donation scheme.

This initiative allowed attendees to donate their £1 cup deposits at the bar, raising an impressive £8,865 of the total £11,596 collected.

The 8,865 cups have made three air ambulance lifesaving missions possible with each cup’s deposit playing a crucial role in saving lives across the region.

Jon Cottrell, senior partnerships executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity said: “We would like to extend a big thank you to Ian Rogers, festival director at Solihull Summer Fest, for his exceptional support.

“We had a great time at the festival, and the generosity of all the those who participated in the fundraising efforts has made a significant impact.

“We are grateful for the festival’s role in helping us make further missions possible.”

Ian Rogers, festival director at Solihull Summer Fest said: “I am incredibly proud to announce that Midlands Air Ambulance Charity was our chosen charity of the year.

“Supporting this vital service means so much to us, as it plays a crucial role in saving lives across the region. We are delighted to have raised £11,596, and this achievement is a testament to the generosity of our community and the dedication of everyone involved.

“It’s a privilege to contribute to the ongoing efforts of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and we look forward to continuing our support in the future.”
