KIND-HEARTED shoppers and staff helped bring a smile to homeless people across the city over Christmas.

Tesco in Solihull joined forces with the Red Bag Company and thanks to customers and staff they filled six trolleys with gift bags full of essential items to hand out to those in need over Christmas-time.

On the December 22 Gillian Smith, community champion, and a team from the store cooked a Christmas dinner for 85 residents and staff at the YMCA in Northfield.

Gillian said: “This was a huge success and we were overwhelmed with the response that we had.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers that took part in this campaign.”
