TALENTED Solihull thespians took to the stage in a charity variety show to celebrate the Mayor’s year in office.
Solihull Shines saw a number of performers showcase their talents at The Core Theatre.
The event is hosted by the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Annette Mackenzie, and proceeds raised will be donated to her three Mayoral charities: Cameron Grant Memorial Trust, Newlands Bishop Farm and OVOS (Our Voice, Our Services).
The line up included magician Ben Hunt, Pop Voices Youth Choir, and the multi-award-winning performing arts school Born2Sing.
Wordsmith Japmeh Kaur Gujral – who is current Young Poet Laureate for Birmingham – also took to the stage, while award-nominated independent filmmaker and digital artist Nicola Prestage compered the event.
Councillor Mackenzie thanked all thise who took part and sponsored the event.
She added: “We were lucky to have some of Solihull’s finest young talent performing, from aerialists and South Asian dance to a solo rapper and a youth choir.”
