KIND-HEARTED pupils at three Solihull Schools have donated much-needed funds and items to those in Ukraine.

Pupils from Ninestiles and Lyndon School held bake sales and raised £625 and £382 respectfully.

The money they raised will go to UNICEF and the Disaster Emergency Committee which was set up to help those affected by the Russian invasion.

Cockshut Hill School called on pupils to donate items to the collection point set up for the school and local community to hand items over to.

There were also some donations from the school’s restaurant partner Caterlink.

Staff and students at Ninestiles also partnered with Acocks Green Lions to provide emergency supplies such as toiletries, baby products and first aid kits.

So far they have sent over 20 boxes of materials to charities in and around Ukraine supporting refugees.

Vince Green, education director at Summit Learning Trust said: “I am so proud of everyone in our schools that has taken the time to fundraise for those in need.

“It’s great to see students so passionate about supporting those suffering around the world and playing their part as global citizens.”
