SCHOOLS across the borough are closed and there will be no bin collections across the borough today.

Solihull Council announced yesterday that all of its maintained school will be closed on Monday (December 11) because of the overnight weather forecast and the state of untreated side roads in the morning.

The Council is asking parents and pupils to check their own school’s website or social media for updates.

Solihull Council chiefs also said waste and recycling collections will be suspended today due to the condition of side roads across the borough.

It added the waste and recycling team will collect any surplus waste and recycling presented for collection next week.

A team will be assessing the situation regarding whether it will be safe to collect tomorrow (Tuesday, December 12).

Bickenhill Household waste and recycing centre will also be closed to the public today.
