Solihull school ranked among best in the country

Solihull Editorial 24th Apr, 2025   0

A Solihull school has been named as one of best in the country for learner progress.

Lyndon School was listed in the top 20 per cent at the Educational Outcomes Awards, based on 2024 performance data and Ofsted information.

The awards measure students’ progress between the start of school and their exams at the end of Key Stage 4, in Year 11.

Schools are judged on how far students have progressed from the start of their time at school in Year 7. Lyndon School’s Progress 8 score, which measures pupil progress, is above average.

The awards, which are run by the The Schools, Students and Teachers Network (SSAT) compare all state-funded schools in England.

Syreeta Kapswara, head of school at Lyndon School, said: “We are incredibly proud of all our learners and staff members for making this award a reality.

“For Lyndon School to be rated as one of the best schools in the country for our learners’ academic progress is a truly inspiring moment for me personally, and a remarkable achievement for our Lyndon community.”

Sue Williamson, chief executive of SSAT, said: “Congratulations to Lyndon School on winning an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award. This success is down to the superb learning and teaching, outstanding support and inspirational leadership of staff.

You have made a huge difference to the lives of the young people in your school. Thank you.”

This national recognition from SSAT affirms Summit Learning Trust’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and student progress.
