Solihull school has the building blocks for success at Lego competition

STUDENTS from Cockshut Hill School attended the first Lego League Robotics regional championships this half term.

The championships were held at the University of Birmingham and the Cockshut entrants demonstrated incredible skills and teamwork.

Both teams from the school came away winners, with one team securing the award for Best Robot Design and the other getting the award for the Best Display of Teamwork.

The league guides youth through science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) learning and exploration at an early age.

Students will come to understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way.

Jason Bridges, principal at Cockshut Hill School said: “I am so proud of all the learners that took part in the competition, they did fantastically well and it was especially great to hear some feedback from one of the primary schools in attendance.

“Our learners were incredibly lovely and engaged with their Year 6s and did us proud with their team spirit and enthusiasm.”
