PUPILS AND staff at Solihull School had a right royal celebration to mark the King’s coronation.

The school’s First Big Side cricket pitch was made coronation ready when the robot line marker ‘Xavier’ marked out King Charles III Coronation Cypher.

A Dish fit for a King was served at celebratory lunches across the school.

The catering team recreated Third Form pupil George’s menu, Salmon, Leek and Potato Kingdom Pie, he thought of for the Food and Nutrition Department’s Dish Fit For a King competition.

Pupils also marked the occasion by a Quercus rubra red oak tree sapling at the Warwick Road campus with the Deputy Lieutenant for the West Midlands David Clarke.

The special ceremony included governors, staff, guests and pupils, speeches and a brass band rendition of God Save the King.
