RUNNERS are being called upon to pull on their running shoes and take part in the 38th annual Knowle Fun Run.

At this year’s Knowle and Dorridge Lions organised event on May 21, runners of all ages will be able to choose between completing 10k over two extended laps or 5k one lap starting at Arden Academy.

There will also be a kids race for children to go head to head and raise funds for charity.

Runners will be sent on their way by this year’s starter, Meriden MP Saqib Bhatti.

This year the Lions have chosen to support Meningitis NOW.

The lions will also donate some of the funds raised to other local causes.

Mr Bhatti said: “It’s wonderful to see Knowle Fun Run back for another year.

“This is a highlight each year in our local community’s calendar.

“It is heart-warming to see so many local people involved in the event and getting involved to help raise money for worthwhile causes.

“I love the genuine community spirit, especially in the name of charity that it displays.”
