FUNDRAISERS put their best foot forward in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Staff at Solihull Sixth Form College took on the challenge to run a marathon in a month and so far have raised £370.

The eight-strong team found time after college and at weekends, in groups of no more than six, to complete the 26.2 miles.

Some of the group, dubbed Solihull Striders, reached the distance half way through the month, so set themselves the extended challenge to run the distance of two marathons.

One of the Striders, Zoe Maksymiw. who is curriculum leader for creative arts at the college said: “Solihull Striders have been running together for a while, having completed the Knowle Fun Run together in the past.

“However, for some of the group, attempting to run a marathon distance was a big challenge and we decided to try to raise some money for charity while we were at it. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to such a worthy cause.”
