Solihull residents can go to the beach in Touchwood this summer

THE SEASIDE is set to arrive in Touchwood next month.

A beach with its own deckchairs will be at the shopping centre once again this summer, bringing with it a taste of an African safari for all to enjoy.

Sun worshippers will not only be able relax and entertain the kids in the seaside-inspired setting from Saturday, July 6. They will also be able to take advantage of enjoying a summer holiday experience without having to travel very far.

Between 11am and 3pm on the opening day budding solo and duo singers from across the region will be able to showcase themselves live on stage in the Touchwood Talent competition.

The lucky winner will be given the chance to perform at Solihull Summer Fest in August.

To continue the beach fun, Touchwood will be hosting a special safari party from noon until 5pm on July 13, with a series of free events.

Throughout the day a children’s DJ will play cool sounds across the golden expanse and there will be the chance to meet Alex the Lion and Skipper the Penguin from Dreamworks film Madagascar.

In addition, throughout the summer, younger guests can take part in Touchwood’s very own Safari Hunt, with a series of prizes up for grabs.

Lucy Burnett, marketing manager at Touchwood, said: “You don’t need to go to the coast to enjoy some beach fun.

“As the sunny season arrives, we’re delighted to be returning to the ever-popular Costa Del Solihull, this time with a Safari twist.

“Join us for our beach party, and experience a series of exciting treats that will be sure to kick-start a summer of fun!”

There will be a series of events each week at the Touchwood beach until the end of August.
