Solihull residents can find out how to make home more eco-friendly and save money

SILLHILLIANS can find out how to make their home more energy efficient, save money and help the environment at a series of free drop-in events.

To mark Retrofit Action Week, May 11 to 19, Solihull Council is hosting the events in the foyer of The Core Library in Solihull town centre between 10am and 5pm on Wednesday (May 15), and Thursday (May 16).

Residents can find out what measures are suitable for their home and learn about free or subsidised measures they may be eligible for, such as insulation, solar panels and heating improvements.

The events will also offer the chance for residents to speak to experts at Solihull Council and energy advice charity Act on Energy.

Councillor Ian Courts, leader of the Council, said: “With households continuing to face pressure from energy costs, there has never been a better time to consider what improvements you can make to your home.

“More efficient homes not only reduce heat loss, emissions, and fuel bills – helping your wallet and the environment – but they are also better for your health and wellbeing as they prevent damp and mould in your home.

“These three events are a great opportunity for residents to talk to our knowledgeable team and partners at Act on Energy to learn more about retrofitting their home with energy efficiency measures.”

To coincide with the events, the Council is also launching a survey to find out residents’ views on retrofitting their property and how it can further help support them to upgrade their home.

The six-week survey launches runs until June 21.
