SILHILLIANS can book up to two appointments at Bickenhill Household Waste and Recycling Centre (HWRC) per week.
The visits can be on the same day or during the booking week, Monday to Sunday or Monday to Saturday for vehicles that need a permit.
Cabinet member for environment and infrastructure, Councillor Ken Hawkins, said: “During the pandemic we moved to a booking system for trips to the recycling centre but we had to limit availability in order to give sufficient space for social distancing.
“I am now pleased that we can open up the system a little more as things start to return to normal.
“That said, I would still like to remind our residents that there are other options which are better for the environment.
“Please check to see if local charities and charity shops can make good use of your unwanted items and invest in a compost bin for excess garden waste if you haven’t done so already.
“Reusing and composting is always a better option if it’s possible.”
Bickenhill HWRC is only available to residents of Solihull those who pay council tax to another authority should not use the site.
