Solihull RBL celebrates 95th anniversary

Solihull Editorial 8th Nov, 2024   0

CELEBRATIONS were the order of the day as Solihull’s Royal British Legion (RBL) marked its 95th anniversary.

Since the club opened in 1929 it has hundreds of thousands to provide financial, social and emotional care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces – past and present and their families.

From the annual Poppy Appeal to a host of other activities the group, which meet at Broomfields Hall on Union Road in Solihull, puts the needs of veterans, soldiers and their loved ones at the heart of what they do.

David Hoey, managing director of the Solihull branch, said: “I personally am the chairman and an ex Royal Marine commando and am privileged to be able to have been able to navigate the club, along with Colin Mason, the club secretary, through difficult times after Covid and which as resulted in turnover trebling and the club investing back and being able to renovate and bid, a new sports lounge for the patrons and members of the Solihull RBL.”
