PLANS to build new classrooms and a nursery at Olton Primary School are taking shape.
Last September, Daylesford Infants and Chapel Fields Junior School were merged and officially took the new name.
Over the past ten months, pupils have continued to be based on two separate sites, but it was always the intention to consider options to move all the children to one location.
Now a planning application has been submitted to Solihull Council, setting out proposals to build a new block and expand the Lyndon Road site.
The single-storey building would house a nursery, three classrooms for reception pupils and eight others for years one to three.
Planning documents complied by the council state the expansion has been designed to fit in with the area and the existing school site.
There will also be minor changes to the current building and a plan to link this with the new development via a walkway.
The expansion will be built on part of the current playing fields, although the documents set out plans to create a new pitch, for sporting activities.
The plans are set to be considered by Solihull Council in the coming months.
