A SOLIHULL school has been handed a top award for getting children moving.
Saint Anne’s Catholic Primary School, in Fordbridge, won the Physical Activity and Health Enhancing Initiatives at the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire PE and Sport Premium Awards.
The Bosworth Drive school was praised for its initiative and judges said they were pleased with how Saint Anne’s ‘puts the children at the heart of movement’.
Councillor Ken Meeson, cabinet member for children, education and skills said: “This is a great award which recognises the well-earned success of Saint Anne’s.
“It’s vitally important that we make sure our children are active and healthy in order to combat obesity and improve confidence and mental health.
“I’d like to congratulate Saint Anne’s once again for their great achievement and seeing off all the other schools in the region. After this great regional success I wish them luck pursuing the national Sports Premium Awards later this year.”
