SOLIHULL police have been responding to residents’ concerns, and engage with local partners to keep communities safe.

Officers from the Smith’s Wood, Kingshurst and Castle Bromwich team arrested and charged a woman with shop theft, located and arrested a man wanted for common assault, seized two vehicles displaying false number plates and carried out a speedwatch operation on Beechcroft Road following community concerns about speeding – 66 vehicles were monitored, with two found to be over the legal limit.

The St Alphege team have been out on proactive patrols with Sharmans Cross Street Watch volunteers following reports of an increase in shed break-ins.

Chelmsley Wood officers have also been active in the area carrying out arrests and joining community engagement events.

The team made three arrests in a single day, including a man wanted for shop theft, visited the NHS cancer awareness bus and they also carried out a large-scale speedwatch operation on Chester Road, Moorend Avenue, Berwicks Lane and Yorkminster Drive – with over 300 vehicles checked and 15 found to be speeding.

And in Shirley PCSOs were on patrol in Greenhill Way and Shirley Park, engaging with residents and keeping an eye on public spaces.
