Solihull Police priority team have expanded

A POLICE priority team  have expanded and are refocusing their attention on priorities and issues that the community have highlighted.

The team have made several arrests over the last week including a 25-year-old man who was wanted on suspicion of a sexual assault in Smithswood, a 40-year-old man wanted on suspicion of a serious assault in ChelmsleyWood and a 36-year-old arrested on suspicion of a domestic assault.

A 44-year-old man was arrested for failing to appear at court after he was found hiding in a box at an address in Chelmsley Wood.

A motorbike believed to have been stolen was also recovered from the address.




The local priorities team focus on a range of things such as serious crime and disrupting criminal behaviour, but they also protect Solihull’s most vulnerable people.

The team alongside neighbourhood teams have also carried out several warrants in Solihull in their pursuit to keep drugs and weapons off the streets.


The team have also been carrying out proactive patrols to tackle vehicle crime across the borough.

Insp Alec Wallace, from Solihull Neighbourhood Taskforce, said: “Our main aim is to keep you safe and make a difference in our communities. You are our priority.

“We have seen some great results so far, but our work doesn’t stop here, we will continue to make a difference, disrupt criminal activity and protect our communities.”
