Solihull police out working with communities

SOLIHULL Police have been out and about among communities over the past week.

The neighbourhood teams have recovered stolen property, tackled anti-social behaviour, kept the roads safe and engage with communities.

The Rurals Neighbourhood Team made a discovery on Windmill Lane, Dorridge – a stash of stolen items.

And thanks to the power of social media, the items were quickly returned to their rightful owner.

Last week, officers from the Smith’s Wood, Kingshurst and Castle Bromwich team made an arrest for breaching a non-molestation order.

A swift response that underlines our continued commitment to protecting people and taking action.

Over in Shirley, the team carried out reassurance patrols, giving crime prevention advice, ensuring residents feel supported and informed.

In Shirley Park, officers teamed up with Shirley Streetwatch volunteers to engage with rough sleepers, locate lost property, and provide visibility around the area.

The Shirley team offered support after an attempted robbery in Elmdon Park – where they were able to transport the victim’s bike back home.

The team also celebrated with young people in Hope Coppice on their GCSE results day.

Finally, the monthly Police and Community Together (PACT) meeting was held at Shirley Library – where officers listened to ideas and concerns raised by the community.

The Hillfield and Monkspath Speedwatch team were also out with officers checking speeds in Widney Lane, with over 650 vehicle speeds assessed. In total, 12 vehicles were reported for speeding.

And over in Chelmsley Wood, officers teamed up with housing partners to carry out visits, tackle anti-social behaviour, conduct arrest attempts, and patrol the area. Their proactive efforts led to drugs being located in a vehicle and seized.
