SOLIHULL police have been on the beat tackling concerns raised by residents.
The St Alphege police team joined the Hillfield and Monkspath Speedwatch group on Widney Lane and caught 24 speeding vehicles in just an hour.
The team clocked a further 24 speeding vehicles whilst on a separate Speedwatch operation on Bryanston Road, while another 10 were clocked in an operation on Dorchester Road.
West Midlands Police said: “Our teams are grateful for the support of Speedwatch volunteers who give up their time to help us keep the roads safe, and offer regular training sessions for those interested in joining.”
Meanwhile as the Lyndon, Elmdon, Olton and Silhill (LEOS) team were on a speeding operation with the Roads Policing Unit, they spotted a suspicious vehicle which was seized for not having insurance on Damson Parkway.
Separately, the LEOS team seized another car suspected of being used in criminal activity, while Chelmsley Wood officers seized a van which had been reported as abandoned, as it had no tax.
Away from vehicle crime, officers have been arrested suspects for a variety of offences including theft, robbery, and domestic assaults.
