POLICE have appealed for the public’s help in identifying the body of a man found in Stechford in December.
An inquest is set to open at Birmingham and Solihull Coroner’s Court to investigate the circumstances of the death.
The man was found dead in the River Cole near Wyndhurst Road in Stechford, at around 2.20pm on Tuesday December 17.
The river flows into the Solihull borough from Birmingham.
Despite the coroner’s post-mortem examination and a police investigation, the man’s identity remains unknown.
Police are putting out an image of his distinctive hooded top and bottoms.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Although the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious, anyone with information on how the he came to be found in the water or who he is should call us so the man’s family can be informed of his tragic death.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police via Live Chat at west-midlands.police.uk between 8am and midnight or call 101 anytime, quoting log 1245 of 16 December 2019.”
