Solihull pharmacy and Urgent Treatment Centre times for Early May Bank Holiday

Sarah Mason 30th Apr, 2026   0

SILHILLIANS are being urged to ensure they get the right treatment this bank holiday weekend.

The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at Solihull hospital will be open from 8am until 10pm, everyday, including the Early May Bank Holiday on Monday (May 4).

People are urged to go to the UTC for minor injuries rather than to A&E at Heartlands Hospital or Good Hope Hospital.

Waiting times are often shorter and patients can be seen a lot quicker.

UTCs are open throughout weekends and bank holidays, treating injuries such as sprains, simple fractures, cuts, burns, minor head injuries and wound infections.

The UTC cannot treat life-threatening emergencies, such as heart attacks and strokes.

For minor illnesses, please contact NHS 111.

People can get expert confidential advice for minor incidents and illnesses as well as medicines for a range of minor ailments.

Pharmacy times over the bank holiday weekend will be different to the usual ones.

On Monday the following pharmacies will be open:

  • Boots at Sears Retail Park will be open from 9am until 8pm
  • Boots in Mell Square will be open from 10am until 5pm
  • Tesco Instore Pharmacy, 21 to 35 Stratford Road, Shirley, will be open from 10am until 4pm
  • Tesco Instore Pharmacy, 1505 Stratford Road, Shirle, will be open from 10am until 4pm
  • Knights Dorridge Pharmacy in Forest Court, Dorridge, will be open from 10am until 1pm.
