A SOLIHULL opticians and hearing centre is raising their glasses to a director who is set to retire after 50 years at the company.

Jeet Saimbi, the contact lens and professional services director at Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care will say a fond farewell to the company after five decades.

Jeet began her career with Scrivens in 1974 aged 21 and bosses say she helped shaped the company’s success across multiple decades.

She started as a contact lens optician in various Midlands stores, she rose through the ranks to lead the contact lens business in 1992, before her appointment to the Board of Directors in 1999.

Throughout her tenure, Jeet has overseen multiple aspects of the business, including contact lenses, professional services, training and frames and equipment procurement.

She also played a central role in successfully integrating hearing care services with the company’s optical business over the past 15 years.

Nicholas Georgevic, chairman of Scrivens, said: “Scrivens has been incredibly fortunate to have someone of Jeet’s ability and impeccable personal qualities working within our business for over half a century.

“We owe her an enormous debt of gratitude for the drive and passion which she has shown throughout her career, always working with the very best interests of our business in mind.

“We wish her a long, fulfilling and richly earned retirement.”
