THE SOLIHULL Observer has teamed up with Vodafone in the town centre to give away £1,000 to a deserving borough charity.
The Community Connection Awards are Vodafone’s way of ‘giving something back’ to the communities in which their stores are located and are intended to help charities have a real and positive impact in the local area.
Solihull Observer readers are being asked to nominate the charity they deem to be the most deserving of the Solihull store’s £1,000 award.
The winning project could be anything from a local soup kitchen that needs money for a new oven to the local scout group who need new uniform.
How to nominate:
All you have to do to nominate is send us an e-mail, titled ‘Vodafone Community Connection Award’ and detailing your chosen charity, why it deserves to be chosen, and what the money would be used for.
Emails – to be sent to: [email protected] – must be received by Monday,
February 8 and include your name, address and daytime contact number.
The winner will be announced the following week.
Qualifying criteria:
* The award must also be for a specific project or purpose, rather than just to cover operating costs.
* The award must be stand-alone rather than form any part of a larger contribution or bigger appeal.
* Nominees must have a registered charity number.
* It cannot be a personal or individual plight, nor a government funded organisation.
