SOLIHULL music man Sam Ostler is keeping his fingers crossed that his latest release will open new doors for the talented songsmith.

Sam, from Hockley Heath, reckons his new single ‘With You’ is his best yet – and he’s been overwhelmed by the positive feedback he’s received from the people at BBC Radio 2 and the team behind The Jools Holland Show.

“It’s very piano based, upbeat and with a nice hook and it’s out on February 16 on Spotify, apple, all the usual outlets,” said Sam, who when not writing music helps out at the Attwell Farm Park attraction.

“It’s all happened pretty quickly – I wrote it in November, had finished recording it by mid-December, it was mixed in London by Alex Marchistone who’s worked with Tony Visconti then it was mastered over in Italy by a guy who’s worked on the Muse albums,” said Sam.

“I had a call the other day by a guy who’s written a lot of stuff for Lewis Capaldi and he was very positive.”

Sam’s kept himself busy throughout lockdown, writing and working on new material.

One of the attractions he’s been doing online is a version of ‘name that tune’ with him playing the intro on his piano.

“Without the gigging and playing to an audience it’as kept me busy, kept the ideas going round in my head and this is the result,” he said.

“I’m really looking forward to the release date.”
