VOLUNTEERS and staff at Solihull Moors Foundation have been praised for their hard work and dedication.
Saqib Bhatti, Meriden and Solihull East MP, found out about how the charity uses the power of sport and community engagement to drive positive social change during a visit.
The Foundation, which is the charitable arm of Solihull Moors Football Club, has become a key pillar of support for residents and offers a number of programmes which span education, health and wellbeing, youth development, and social inclusion.
This includes mentoring young people and delivering school-based initiatives to running wellbeing sessions and outreach for isolated or vulnerable individuals.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Foundation’s facilities at Damson Park and further discussions on how local partnerships and support can help sustain and grow its programmes in the future.
Mr Bhatti said: “It was a pleasure to visit the Solihull Moors Foundation and see the incredible work being done to support our community.
“The Foundation is making a real difference in people’s lives, whether that’s helping young people gain confidence and skills, encouraging healthier lifestyles, or tackling loneliness and isolation.
“What stood out most was the dedication of the team and volunteers, who are clearly passionate about creating opportunities and improving wellbeing across Solihull.
“Their work demonstrates how sport can be a powerful force for good, bringing people together and strengthening our community.
“Charities like the Solihull Moors Foundation are vital to the social fabric of our area. I will continue to champion their efforts and support initiatives that enable them to expand their reach and impact.”
