SOLIHULL College and university Centre welcomed the Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Stuart Davis, to have a tour and land a plane at the newly expanded Woodlands Campus.
The Auckland Drive college now incorporates a new art specialist centre for painting and decorating, plastering, carpentry and an expanded motor vehicle training facility.
The Mayor was given a tour of the new centre, including the new Engineering and Construction facilities, which accommodate MOT and engine workshops.
The campus has also received a BAe Jetstream T Mk2 aircraft that students have access to work with.
The Mayor even managed to land a plane using their Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft simulator.
The Mayor said: “I was thrilled with the facilities at Solihull College and University Centre.
“Seeing the students in action and speaking to them about their courses was a pleasure.
“I particularly enjoyed the aircraft simulator and will be telling many people about how I landed a plane.”
