A SOLIHULL massage parlour has been ordered to close after police established it was being used as a brothel.
Officers from the Solihull Prime Crime Team successfully obtained a full closure order on the Dragon Phoenix massage parlour in Hatchford Brook Road.
The business was being advertised as a massage parlour.
However, concerns were raised by the Elmdon community that it was being used as a brothel.
The Priority Crime Team acted on the information and, following a warrant, it showed the premises were indeed being used as a brothel where women were being exploited.
An emergency closure notice was issued on November 14 for the premises.
West Midlands Police then obtained a full three-month closure order which was granted on November 26 at Birmingham Magistrates Court.
This order means that that anyone who enters the premises will risk being arrested.
Sergeant Zaineb Chaanbi, from the Solihull Priority Crime Team, said: “We will continue to work on closing any premises which run in the same manner across Solihull.
“Our aim is to protect vulnerable victims and make our community safer.
“We rely on information received from the public to be able to act. If you have any information, please call 101. Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
