PLANNING inspectors have announced the new national planning framework, which aims save green belt land from development, does not apply to plans already submitted.
Solihull Council was contacted by the Inspectors undertaking the independent examination of the Solihull Local Plan with the news last week.
The Inspectors have asked the Council to confirm how it wishes to proceed with the examination.
Councillor Ian Courts, Leader of Solihull Council, said: “We need to take time to consider the implications of the revised plan, and how any additional flexibility it provides can be best used to support the long-term interests of the borough in the most effective and meaningful way, in particular the protection of the Green Belt.
“We will respond to the Inspectors in due course and provide updates when we have them.”
